Uttar Pradesh has recently experienced storms, rainfall, and hail in various regions. In response, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed district officials to promptly initiate relief operations in the affected areas. He emphasized the importance of visiting these regions, conducting assessments, and closely monitoring relief efforts. Immediate financial assistance should be provided to families impacted by human or animal losses due to storm or rain-related disasters, and proper medical care must be ensured for the injured.

Officials have been tasked with surveying crop damage and submitting reports to the government for further action. Additionally, they are to prioritize effective drainage arrangements in areas facing waterlogging. Earlier, on May 21, Chief Minister Adityanath reviewed the current COVID-19 situation in Uttar Pradesh amid emerging global and national concerns regarding the latest JN.1 subvariant.

The Chief Minister reassured the public that there is no immediate cause for concern in the state; however, he stressed the need for vigilance and caution in light of the global context. According to an official statement, he noted that the central government has not issued any new guidelines regarding COVID-19. Nevertheless, given the rising cases of JN.1 in Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong, he highlighted the necessity for ongoing monitoring in Uttar Pradesh. He directed all medical colleges, district hospitals, and health units across the state to remain on high alert and be fully prepared for any potential emergencies.

Highlighting the infrastructure developed during previous pandemic waves, the Chief Minister instructed that the 10-bed ICUs, ventilators, and oxygen plants established in district hospitals must always be operational. He emphasized the importance of regular testing and timely maintenance of these critical facilities. Furthermore, he called for continuous training and effective deployment of healthcare workers, recognizing their commendable contributions during the pandemic.

Chief Minister Adityanath has also directed relevant departments to begin preparations for the prevention of seasonal infectious diseases such as dengue, malaria, and kala-azar. He instructed the health department, medical education department, and local administration to collaborate on ensuring proactive measures. Concluding the review, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reiterated that the Uttar Pradesh government is fully prepared and committed to addressing all potential health challenges, including COVID-19. He assured that the state's healthcare system is vigilant, capable, and equipped to safeguard public health.
