Following the blockbuster success of Kalki 2898 AD, Deepika Padukone is making a grand return to Telugu cinema. She will star opposite Allu Arjun in director Atlee’s next magnum opus, titled AA22×A6. The film marks Deepika and Atlee’s second collaboration after the ₹600 crore hit Jawan (2023), and promises to be an even more ambitious venture.
A Stellar Cast and High-Octane Action
The action-packed spectacle will feature Allu Arjun in a challenging double role for the first time in his career. Joining Deepika as the female leads are Mrunal Thakur and Janhvi Kapoor, adding further star power to the ensemble. Casting for the remaining roles is currently underway.
Deepika’s Strategic Comeback
Deepika, who has been on maternity leave since September 2024, is making a calculated return to the big screen by picking high-profile, commercially potent projects. AA22×A6 is her second major signing post-leave, following Shah Rukh Khan’s action thriller King, which started filming recently in Mumbai. She is expected to begin shooting for Atlee’s film once her portions for King wrap up

Produced by Sun Pictures, AA22×A6 is set in a parallel universe and is envisioned as a visually groundbreaking action drama. The production has roped in top special effects companies from Los Angeles to deliver cutting-edge visuals. With a massive ₹700 crore budget, the film aims to redefine action storytelling on a global scale.
Pre-production is in full swing, and principal photography is expected to commence between July and August 2025. With Deepika and Allu Arjun finally sharing the screen, AA22×A6 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Indian films in recent memory.
