Excitement Builds for Shah Rukh Khan's 'King'

Fans of Shah Rukh Khan are buzzing with anticipation for his next film, 'King', following his recent project 'Dunki'. Although the film's official announcement is still pending, it has already generated significant excitement among audiences. Initial reports indicate that the film is slated for a 2026 release, with speculation that Khan may opt to debut it on Gandhi Jayanti instead of the traditional Diwali or Christmas slots.

Sources suggest that Shah Rukh Khan is leaning towards a Gandhi Jayanti 2026 release for 'King'. Historically, he has chosen festive dates like Diwali and Christmas for his film launches. Additionally, his daughter Suhana Khan is reportedly involved in the project and has begun filming alongside Abhay Verma.

Suhana is expected to share the screen with her father, as well as notable actors such as Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, and others. Rumors also indicate that Abhishek Bachchan may portray the antagonist in 'King', which is said to draw inspiration from the 2000 film 'Bichhoo' and the French classic 'Léon: The Professional'. While details about Shah Rukh Khan's character and the storyline remain under wraps, Anil Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, and Jackie Shroff are also reported to have significant roles in the film.

Regarding Rani Mukerji's involvement, she is expected to appear in an extended cameo. A source revealed to a media outlet that Rani and Shah Rukh Khan, who have previously collaborated on hits like 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' and 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham', will reunite for this film. Rani is set to play the role of Suhana Khan's mother, a character pivotal to the film's action-thriller narrative.

Initially, Sujoy Ghosh was slated to direct 'King', but he has since been replaced by Siddharth Anand, who previously worked with Shah Rukh Khan on 'Pathaan'.
