Dhanush Takes on the Role of APJ Abdul Kalam

Dhanush has made a name for himself as one of the most adaptable actors in the film industry. He is gearing up to portray the life of APJ Abdul Kalam, the beloved former President of India, in an upcoming biopic. The film will be directed by Om Raut, but the announcement has sparked varied responses from netizens, largely due to the negative feedback surrounding Raut's previous film, Adipurush.

In his announcement, Dhanush expressed his gratitude, stating, "I feel truly blessed and deeply humbled to be portraying the life of such an inspirational and magnanimous leader — our very own Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam sir."

Public Sentiment on Om Raut's Direction

Following the backlash from Adipurush, many online users have voiced their skepticism regarding Om Raut's involvement in this biopic.

Upcoming Projects for Dhanush

On the professional front, Dhanush is also set to appear in the film Kubra, which features Rashmika Mandanna, Nagarjuna, and Jim Sarbh in key roles. Director Sekhar Kammula shared that he was initially hesitant to present the story of Kubra to Dhanush, fearing that he might not be familiar with his work. However, upon contacting him, Dhanush surprised Kammula by discussing his favorite films from the director's portfolio.

The teaser for Kubra has already been released, showcasing various characters. Dhanush will portray two distinct looks in the film, one as a slum-dweller and another in traditional attire. Nagarjuna will play a family man, while Jim Sarbh will take on the role of a wealthy businessman. Rashmika Mandanna will also appear in a unique look.

Production Details

The film is being produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd. It is set to be released in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
