Odisha's Chief Minister Unveils Major Industrial Projects Worth ₹1.15 Lakh Crore

A New Era for Odisha's Industrial Landscape

Jajpur: On Thursday, Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched and laid the groundwork for 24 industrial initiatives, collectively valued at ₹1,15,000 crore, which are set to create approximately 36,000 jobs.


During the event, the CM inaugurated four significant projects, including the expansion of Tata Steel Limited's Integrated Steel Plant (ISP) at Kalinga Nagar, which involves an investment of ₹47,599 crore and is anticipated to generate 4,625 jobs.


Other projects inaugurated include a petroleum and solar power venture by JSL Group (₹470 crore), Jatia Steel Limited's TMT Rebar-cum-Wire Rod Mill (₹220 crore), and a poultry feed plant by Abis Exports India Private Limited (₹161.57 crore).


Moreover, the CM performed the groundbreaking ceremony for 20 additional industrial projects, including Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited's (NINL) steel plant expansion, which is set to cost ₹61,769 crore.


This facility is expected to become one of the largest steel production sites in the area, creating around 14,000 direct jobs, according to officials.


Additionally, Linde India Limited is establishing an air separation unit with an investment of ₹425 crore, aimed at boosting local industrial self-sufficiency and ensuring a reliable gas supply for Odisha's steel and manufacturing sectors.


The projects also include foreign investments from countries such as Germany, Japan, the UK, and the USA.


TYK Ceramics India Pvt Ltd, a Japanese firm, will invest ₹57 crore to produce advanced refractory products for steelmaking, enhancing local production capabilities.


Almamet India Private Limited, a German multinational, is investing ₹50.6 crore to set up a facility for magnesium granules and calcium carbide, contributing to the specialty chemical industry in the state.


Neo Industries Metal Processing Pvt Ltd from the USA is investing ₹72 crore in chrome plating and steel surface finishing, which will improve steel quality and enhance Odisha's manufacturing capabilities.


Corewire Surface Technology Pvt Ltd from the UK plans to invest ₹50.1 crore in a facility for rebuilding steel rolls, thereby strengthening the metallurgical supply chain.


Lechler India Pvt Ltd, another German company, is establishing a precision nozzle and steel fabrication unit with an investment of ₹1.5 crore, promoting cleaner and more efficient industrial processes.


An official stated, "These 24 projects will not only attract foreign investment and advanced technology to Odisha but will also act as a catalyst for job creation, collaboration with MSMEs, and industrial growth in the region."


Majhi emphasized, "Odisha is at a pivotal moment. With the launch of these industrial projects worth ₹1.15 lakh crore in Jajpur, we are not just laying foundations; we are constructing the future. This initiative will create 36,000 job opportunities, allowing our youth to thrive in their homeland."


He noted that in just 113 days since the Make-in-Odisha Conclave, the state has transformed commitments into tangible progress.


The event was attended by industry leaders and notable figures, including state Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, Textiles, Handlooms and Handicrafts Minister Pradeep Balsamant, and Jajpur MP Rabindra Narayan Behera.
