Simone Inzaghi is expected to name a heavily rotated Inter side for the final match of the 2024-25 Serie A season, a Scudetto decider away against Como, ahead of the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain coming up the following Saturday.

Lautaro Martinez and Davide Frattesi are expected to be back in Inzaghi’s squad for the final Serie A match of the season, but there are doubts over the availability of Benjamin Pavard and Piotr Zielinski according to the latest updates.

The Nerazzurri will play against Cesc Fabregas’s Como at the Stadio Sinigaglia on Friday night with a hope of claiming their second consecutive Serie A title.

Inter will need Napoli to drop points in order for that to happen. Antonio Conte’s side will play at home against Cagliari, already safe from relegation, at the same time on Friday night with a one-point advantage over the Nerazzurri ahead of kick-off.

According to reports earlier in the week, Lautaro Martinez is expected to be with the squad in Como on Friday night and is in contention to feature, likely from the substitutes’ bench. Sky Sport Italia report that both he and Davide Frattesi returned to full training with the rest of the first-team group on Thursday.

The Argentine has not featured for Inter since the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona on May 6. Mehdi Taremi is set to fill in for him in the starting line-up against Como.

Pavard and Zielinski, meanwhile, trained separately on Thursday and are now unlikely to be available against Como on Friday.

Even though the Serie A title on the line, there are conflicting reports about the strength of the team that Inzaghi will field against Como on Friday night.

Some outlets predict that he will start his strongest available XI, featuring the likes of Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu and Marcus Thuram, although there could be a series of second-half substitutions in order to give some of his players a minor rest ahead of the Champions League final next week.

Others, including Calciomercato.com and Sky Sport Italiasuggest that Inzaghi will name a team similar to the one that beat Torino 2-0 away from home two weeks ago, featuring the likes of Kristjan Asllani, Nicola Zalewski and Joaquin Correa.
