Thursday’s reports claim that Napoli-owned Victor Osimhen is in talks over a move to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal once the 2024-25 season comes to an end, following reports that he has rejected a proposal to join Juventus in the summer transfer window.
Osimhen is still under contract with Napoli until the summer of 2026, but is expected to be sold once his loan spell with Galatasaray comes to an end.
The Nigeria international has a €75m release clause in his contract that can be activated this summer, although that clause is not valid for Serie A clubs, which means that Juventus would have likely had to pay a premium in order to convince Napoli to sell him to them.
Though Juventus were keen on a deal for Osimhen, reports earlier in the week claim that he has turned down a Bianconeri offer and will not be moving to Turin this summer.
Reports Osimhen in direct talks with Al-Hilal
Now, according to reports from FootmercatoSaudi Pro League side Al-Hilal are in discussions over a move to sign Osimhen this summer.
Thursday’s report claims that Al-Hilal are on the lookout for a high-profile attacker following the departure of Neymar in January.
Footmercato adds that Osimhen is seen as the ‘ideal’ recruit and that there are ongoing, direct talks between the club and the player.
Al-Hilal have several familiar Serie A names among their squad, including Osimhen’s former Napoli teammate Kalidou Koulibaly, Joao Cancelo and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, as well as ex-Premier League and LaLiga stars Yassine Bounou, Ruben Neves and Aleksandar Mitrovic.
