Nicholas Pooran registered a scintillating 50 in IPL 2025 to mark a return to form. After a brilliant start to the season, the LSG batter faced a quite bad patch: runs stopped coming almost, boundaries ceased almost, and with the dip in form, it started hurting the team a lot. At one time being named Orange Cap holder, Pooran has failed to score above 50 in his last six innings, with his last big innings being against GT on April 12.
Thursday, however, was different. Fine Pooran was battling on with the best GT bowlers without any fear. His fifty came up off just 23 balls, behind four fours and four sixes. More than the numbers, it was his batting that grabbed the attention. He was looking like that destructive force he had been in the early season. Bowlers went blank and soon fell on the defensive lines.
This explosive knock also raised his season total beyond 500 runs with an excellent average above 45. Although this innings may have come too late to help LSG qualify for the playoffs, it was an important innings for Pooran personally and reminder about his mark.
