Nevertheless, they continued to lead the IPL 2025 points standings and have already advanced to the playoffs, joining the Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. After 13 games, the Shubman Gill-led team has nine victories and eighteen points.

To participate in the first qualifier, which is set for next Thursday, May 29, at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, they will need to place in the top two.

The 2022 winners will just need to continue being consistent and give it their all in their last league game, even if the loss to LSG has made their prospects of finishing in the top two a little more difficult.

If Gujarat Titans defeat Chennai Super Kings in their last league game on May 25 and Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings lose at least one of their final two league games, they would complete the IPL 2025 league season as the top team in the standings.

In this case, RCB and PBKS are unable to finish with more than 19 points, and GT will lead the standings with 20 points.

The Gujarat Titans will not place first, however, if they lose their last league game. They can finish second, but they will need to hope that PBKS defeats the Mumbai Indians on May 26 in Jaipur and that RCB loses their next two league games (against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 23 and the Lucknow Super Giants on May 27).

If Gujarat Titans lose against Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings and RCB win at least one of their next two league games, they would finish third.

The Shubman Gill-led team will finish in fourth place and play the third-place team in the Eliminator match in Mullanpur on May 30 if RCB wins one of their next two games, the Punjab Kings defeat GT, the Mumbai Indians defeat Punjab Kings, and CSK defeats GT.
