Users are excited to discover the real truth behind the disaster.
One user commented, “did i read every article and watch every video about this when it happened? yes. am i gonna watch this anyway? Absolutely.”
Another user commented, “The fact it was crushed faster than the human brain can register pain is insane. They literally blinked out of existence. Wonder if they'll include that.”

One user reacted, “I could've saved Netflix tons of money. This series should only be about 10m. Rich guy takes a bunch of rich people irresponsibly down into the dangerous depths of the ocean, and it ended exactly how actual experts who don't do that knew it would.”
Another user reacted, “Not surprised Netflix is making this. Can’t let a good tragedy go unmilked.”

Director Mark Monroe told Netflix, “When the Titan submersible went missing, I was horrified and mesmerised by the 24/7 news coverage and global social commentary — just like the rest of the world.”
He added, “There was no context for what could have happened to those onboard, and the only touchpoint was the Titanic, a story that’s now become a grim fairy tale. The more I dug into this terrible tragedy, the more intrigued I became about how this could have ever happened in the first place, and who exactly was the man who built and then went down with this ship. We hope that this film can help provide answers to these very questions.”
He concluded by saying, “[Rush] felt the pressure of saying that he was going to do something, and as the years go on and the technology keeps returning these not great answers, that pressure begins to build.”
Titan: The OceanGate Disaster will be released on Netflix on June 11.
