Novak Djokovic beat Cameron Norrie 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 1-6 during a titanic battle on Friday afternoon to reach the final of the Geneva Open. It's a timely victory for Djokovic, who hasn't won a tournament of any kind since taking gold at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

A return to Roland-Garros is next on the cards for both players, but the duo were looking to complete their French Open preparations on a high with victory in Switzerland. Djokovic, who sat out the recent Italian Open, didn't have it all his own way though, with Norrie able to hold his serve until the seventh game of the first set.

It proved the only - albeit decisive - break point of the first set, with Djokovic holding his nerve to pick up the required two remaining shots to go 1-0 up. The second was similarly tight, with Norrie the player to take the first break point, doing so in the fourth game of the set.

Norrie would eventually take the second, but not before a topsy-turvy set played out. Having missed a set-point at 5-2 up, Norrie lost his serve in the following game and was eventually pegged back at 5-5 by the Serbian star.

Two holds of serve followed, forcing the game into a tiebreak, which, again, was hotly contested. It eventually went the way of the Brit, who, despite losing his serve twice during the decider, eventually ran out an 8-6 winner to force a deciding set.
