Navi Mumbai: The recruitment drive initiated by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) for 668 vacancies across 30 different categories has garnered a tremendous response from job seekers. According to official data, a staggering 84,774 online applications were submitted between March 28 and May 19, the closing date for applications.

This large-scale recruitment, conducted through direct service appointments, is aimed at filling Group-C and Group-D posts within various departments of the NMMC. Among the different categories, the position of Clerk-Typist received the highest number of applications, with 23,347 candidates competing for just 135 posts.

This was followed by 15,447 applications for 51 posts of Multipurpose Health Worker (HIVTAP), 14,558 applications for 83 posts of Junior Engineer (Civil), and 12,634 applications for 131 posts of Staff Nurse/Midwife (G.N.M).

The overwhelming interest reflects both the demand for government jobs and the public’s trust in transparent recruitment processes. NMMC has urged all applicants to stay updated through the official website www.nmmc.gov.in and the corporation’s verified social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

The Municipal Commissioner Kailash Shinde emphasised the importance of relying solely on official sources for information and cautioned candidates against believing in rumours or falling victim to misinformation. He appealed to applicants to avoid unofficial intermediaries and fraudulent offers that could exploit their aspirations.

This record-breaking response underlines the high level of interest in public sector jobs and the growing need for credible employment opportunities in the region.

A post shared by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation via X on May 24 stated that "The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation announced that it received over 84,000 applications for 668 posts across 30 categories. The recruitment process has received an overwhelming response."
