Shimla/Rampur: On Saturday evening, various regions in Himachal Pradesh experienced heavy rainfall, with Rampur in the Shimla district being severely affected by a sudden cloudburst. This event took place near the Jagatkhana area, leading to widespread damage and alarm among the local population.

Around 6:00 PM, a cloudburst hit Jagatkhana, a locality close to Rampur. Eyewitness accounts indicate that the area was quickly inundated with a surge of rainwater and debris, causing extensive damage to properties and infrastructure. Numerous vehicles parked along the streets were swept away by the rushing waters.

Initial assessments suggest that approximately ten vehicles may have been lost to the flood. The local authorities are actively monitoring the situation.

The overwhelming flow of water and debris has made roads in the vicinity completely impassable. Witnesses reported that the flood's sudden onset, accompanied by thunder and heavy rain, quickly overwhelmed the area. Within moments, the force of the water swept away vehicles and blocked essential transit routes.
