Going on to discuss how it all felt "rehearsed", Meghan added: "It was rehearsed. We did the thing outside with the press, then we went right inside, took the coat off and sat down and did the interview.
"It was all in the same moment. My point is we weren't allowed to tell our story because they didn't allow it."
Harry, who also appeared in the clip of Meghan talking about their engagement interview, then made a joke about how the couple had never been allowed to tell their story - to which Meghan laughed and said "that's true".
Mishal later spoke to about Meghan's comments, telling the publication: "What I remember about that day was two people who were excited about their engagement and in love. They seemed to have thought through what their new lives would be like and what marriage would mean for her life in particular.
"There was nothing that pointed to what would happen. It was two people who were full of joy in each other and life."
Both Harry and Meghan previously revealed that their engagement took place at their home Nottingham Cottage.
