Palak Tiwari, who is steadily making a mark in the showbiz, recently opened up about her bond with her mother, television icon Shweta Tiwari. In an exclusive interview with The Free Press Journal, Palak shared how her mother plays the role of her most honest critic — someone who not only supports her but also keeps her grounded with constructive feedback.“Indubitably, yes,” Palak said when asked if her mother is her most honest critic. “She definitely is, because she understands my capabilities far better than I do. In fact, we’re quite similar — this is around the same age she started her career, actually five years younger than I am now. Our growth trajectories are quite alike, and because of how similar we are, she knows exactly where I’m going wrong.”Palak revealed that having a mother who’s not just a parent but also a seasoned actor comes with a unique advantage. “We’re very similar kinds of actors, so there’s really no one better to guide me than her. She’s experienced the same kind of roles, the same kind of scenes, at the same age. She’ll often say, ‘Hey, this is where I got stuck, and I hated watching myself do that, so don’t repeat that mistake.’”But it’s not just about acting techniques — Shweta’s attention to detail also extends to Palak’s facial expressions and mannerisms. “When you’ve raised a child, you notice their expressions and certain little habits. So she’ll see me doing something and go, ‘That’s cute in real life, but don’t ever do that on screen — it looks terrible!’ It’s honestly such a blessing to have an actor as a mom.”Palak also shared a personal anecdote that reflects the depth of Shweta’s involvement in her craft. “She once told me something that I found so interesting. She said, ‘Whenever we fight, and you get angry, of course you misbehave. I get scared to see your expressions because they come off as really negative — I hope that never shows up on screen!’ And I was like, ‘Seriously, Mom? While I was delivering a three-page monologue, you were focused on my expressions instead of my lines?’ But that’s just who she is — she believes in me so deeply and always wants the best for me. She truly hopes the world sees what she sees in me.”Well, with a grounded perspective and her mother’s seasoned guidance, Palak is now carving her own path while carrying forward a legacy.
