Method:
1. Soaking rice:
- Wash the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for at least 4-5 hours.
- After soaking, filter the rice well and put it in a pot.
2. Preparing the mixture:
- In a pan, add jaggery and 1 cup of water and let it melt on low flame.
- When the jaggery melts, add roasted peanuts, grated coconut and cardamom powder. Mix well.
- Keep this mixture aside.
3. Create Challe:
- Put soaked rice in a grinder and grind it coarsely (not too fine).
- Add ground rice to the jaggery mixture and mix well.
- If the mixture looks very dry, then add some water and soften it.
4. Frying:
- Heat ghee in the pan.
- Take the mixture in small parts and give it round shape and put it in hot ghee.
- Fry the inverted until golden. Do not put too much at once, so that they do not stick to each other.
- Take out the fried vigilance and place it on the tissue paper so that excess oil is removed.
Method of serving:
- Serve hot chalas with tea or milk. This is a very tasty and energy -giving dessert.
Tips:
- If you want, you can also add dry fruits like cashew nuts, almonds.
