Acharya Premanand Ji Maharaj, in a discourse, described Jeeva Seva as supreme religion and said that when we serve any creature, whether it is animal or bird, God himself accepts that service and is happy.

Acharya Premanand Ji Maharaj Ji shared an incident in which Saint Eknathji Maharaj was going to offer Ganga water from Gangotri to Rameswaram. When he was about to reach Rameswaram almost, he found a donkey suffering from a thirst on the way. Seeing his condition, Eknath ji’s heart was moved. He gave the vase filled with Ganga water to that thirsty donkey, while his colleagues stopped him that now Rameswaram is near. But Eknath ji said, “Now this is our reverence, this is Rameshwar.” Surprisingly, as soon as he fed the donkey water, Lord Shiva appeared.

Another similar episode is associated with Saint Namdev ji. Once a dog ran away with his bread, Namdev ji ran after him with a bowl of ghee and said, “Lord! Do not eat dry, get some ghee too.” Then Vitthal God appeared as that dog. Acharya Premanand ji said that it is clear from these episodes that when love and reverence are added to service, then the same service becomes devotion. God is seated in every living being, and his true worship occurs when we see them in every creature. Giving this message, “Jeeva Seva is Shiva Seva”, he called upon all the devotees to serve the creatures selflessly and connect devotion to karma.
