Delhi: The 68th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, in which Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 110 runs. Captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bat first and his team proved this decision perfectly.

Hyderabad scored a huge score

Batting first, SRH scored 278 runs after losing just 4 wickets in 20 overs. The batsmen of the team adopted an aggressive style from the beginning and did not give any chance to the bowlers of Kolkata. In response, the entire team of KKR collapsed after scoring 168 runs in 18.4 overs.

Cummins responds to the team’s performance

After the match, Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins spoke openly about the team’s performance. He said, “The kind of game our team showed in the last few matches of the season was really worth watching. The level of batting we showed can scare any team.”

‘We could not play worse than this’

Cummins admitted that the team’s performance at the beginning of the season was not as good. He said, “We have such players that we could not play worse than this. We should have made a place in the playoffs, but this time we missed it.”

Strategy will have to be made according to every pitch

Pat Cummins also spoke on the role of the pitch. He said, “When we get such a batting pitch, we have to score up to 250-260, while we should reach 170 on slow pitches, which we could not do.”

Trying 20 players

Cummins also told that the team tried 20 players in this season, but the correct combination could not be made. He said, “Many players got a chance, we paid attention to every option, but not everyone could find a place in the playing XI. Some players also returned due to injury. Still I am proud of my team.”
