The Center’s ambitious Rahveer Yojana, which honors Good Samaritans who assist victims of traffic accidents during the crucial “Golden Hour,” has been formally launched by the Uttar Pradesh government. The Prime Minister introduced the program, which rewards anyone who takes accident victims to a hospital or trauma center within an hour of the occurrence with Rs 25,000.

To encourage more individuals to come forward and help during crises, the incentive, which was formerly Rs 5,000, has been greatly raised. According to regulation, hospital officials will notify the police as soon as an injured individual is taken to the hospital.

The Transport Department and the District Collector will then be informed by the police. The incentive money will be sent straight to the helper’s bank account upon verification. With the main goal of lowering the road accident death rate by prompt medical assistance, the program is now in place across the whole state, including Lucknow.

Medical professionals stress that the “Golden Hour,” or the first hour after an accident, is critical for saving lives since prompt treatment dramatically reduces the chance of death. According to the government, the program will foster a more responsive and caring society in addition to enhancing residents’ sense of social responsibility.
