Intimacy scenes in Bollywood have always been a topic of discussion among the audience. While in the initial days of Bollywood romantic and passionate scenes made actors and actresses uncomfortable with the evolution of the industry these scenes became common. From the 1990s when the winds were changing in the industry many actresses were roped in for movies where they had to perform certain scenes with their co-stars and such movies left a lasting impact on various actresses. One among them was Sushmita Sen. Sushmita is one of the boldest actresses Bollywood has ever given to the audience. She speaks her mind and is known for her straightforwardness. In one of her interviews the former Miss Universe opened up about a disturbing incident that took place on the sets of her film Chingari. Released in 2006 Chingari featured Sushmita Sen and Mithun Chakraborty in lead roles. Sens character in the film is that of a sex worker named Basanti. Little did Sushmita know that the role would cost her mental peace. She once said that the emotions in this role had a deep impact on her personal life as well. She said I used to feel very uncomfortable when a man touched me in every scene. Although I knew that it was acting the character of Basanti had made a deep impact on me. The film is based on the novel The Prostitute and the Postman by Bhupen Hazarika. The purpose of the film is to show the difficulties of oppressed women in society. However these scenes disturbed Sen to her core. Mithun Chakraborty Touched Me... Sushmita had to shoot an intimate scene with Mithun and reports claimed that the actress felt uneasy doing that so much so that she broke into tears. In one of the media reports it was claimed that Sushmita complained to director Kalpana Lajmi that Mithun had touched her inappropriately. Media reports stated that Sushmita Sen stormed out of the sets of Chingari with tears in her eyes following the incident. However the director Kalpana Lajmi reassured her that it was a misunderstanding. Sources claim that the actress reconsidered the situation and resolved the matter with Mithun privately. Though Chingari did not become a hit fans and critics hailed Sushmita Sens acting.
