According to Warclaw, Enzo Maresca, Chelsea’s decisive victory against Real Betis in the Conference League final might serve as a springboard for future success.

At Stadion Wrocław in Poland, the Premier League team overcame a deficit to defeat Real Betis 4-1 thanks to goals from Enzo Fernandez, Nicolas Jackson, Jadon Sancho, and Moises Caicedo in the second half. Chelsea is now the first team in history to win all five European club titles as a consequence of the outcome.

The Conference League trophy is the first club-level award that most Blues players have ever won. Maresca said that his team has more in store.

“Hopefully, it can serve as a springboard (for future success).” You must win games and tournaments in order to develop a winning attitude. The trophy we won today will undoubtedly improve us,” Maresca said, according to the Chelsea website.

However, I’m also very happy of the trajectory and trip we’ve taken in the Premier League. These players demonstrated consistency throughout 38 games, which is the most toughest tournament in the world. That’s why I exaggerated my rage after Nottingham Forest. However, you have to be reliable across 38 games, and it’s incredible to have the youngest team in Premier League history,” he said.

Regarding the game, Maresca said that his team’s slow start may be the result of his players overindulging in their triumph in securing a spot in the UEFA Champions League on the last day of the Premier League season.

“I believe we played the game incorrectly, which is why I was a little irritated in the first half. I kind of anticipated [this], but after Nottingham Forest, when you had to wait all season, the joy was a little too much. Thus, we had some difficulty in the first half. We performed considerably better in the second half, and we are now overjoyed.

“The takeaway following Nottingham Forest was, ‘Guys, we need to win the final if we want to be a significant team.'” However, we were happier and more exhausted since we had 48 hours less time to be ready than they had (Real Betis). On Sunday, we performed for a very large audience. So I kind of anticipated that. We performed considerably better in the second half,” he said.
