The Straits Times reported that in a post on Weibo, Li shared photos from his daughter Jada’s graduation ceremony, calling the graduations of all his daughters “the highlight” of his life.

He also acknowledged Jada’s hard work, stating: “She is finally free to pursue her dreams after more than 10 years of hard work.”

According to Chinese-language media outlets, all four of Li’s daughters received their higher education in the U.S. Jada graduated from Barnard College, while Li’s third daughter Jane is a graduate of Harvard University. In a previous post, Li also revealed that his second daughter Taimi has become an ophthalmologist.

During his visit to New York for Jada’s graduation ceremony, Li took the opportunity to explore the city with her.

“My daughter accompanied me on a subway ride, a stroll in Central Park, and we grabbed a hot dog when hunger struck,” he shared. “Taking a leisurely break, I felt truly relaxed in these ordinary moments.”

Li, 62, was born in Beijing, China, and faced financial hardship after the death of his father when he was just two years old. Recognized for his talent in Wushu at the age of eight, Li went on to become the national all-around champion from 1975 to 1979 before retiring at 18 due to a knee injury. He later became an assistant coach for the Beijing Wushu team.

Li’s success in sports helped pave the way for his career in martial arts films. His 1982 film “Shaolin Temple” broke box office records in China, earning 161 million yuan (US$22.7 million), followed by the 1984 sequel “Kids From Shaolin” which became the highest-grossing film of the year.

Li made his international debut in the 1998 film “Lethal Weapon 4” and went on to star in Hollywood blockbusters like “The Expendables” and “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.”

In 2011, Li confirmed that he had obtained Singaporean citizenship, according to AFP.

Jane and Jada are the two daughters Li shares with his second wife, Hong Kong actress Nina Li Chi. He also has two older daughters, Taimi and Si, from his first marriage to Huang Qiuyan, his Beijing Wushu Team fellow member and “Kids From Shaolin” co-star.
