JoSAA Counselling 2025: Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) released the counselling schedule for 2025, paving the way for admissions to some of India's most sought-after engineering institutes, including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). The registration and choice-filling procedure for this year will begin on June 3, 2025, on the official JoSAA website.Applicants for counselling at JoSAA include candidates who have passed JEE Main 2025 or JEE Advanced 2025. These students will vie for seats at the premier technical institutions of the country. There will be six rounds of counselling at JoSAA 2025, providing students with several chances to retain or change their allocated seats.The seat allotment is to be announced on the first round on June 20, 2025. The candidates will have three options after every round: 'freeze', to hold the seat and drop out of the process, 'float', to hold the seat but wait for a higher one in the next rounds, or 'slide', to move to a higher preference in the same institution.In a departure from previous years, JoSAA 2025 will be online only. Document verification, fee payment, and seat acceptance will all be done online; there won't be any in-person reporting. It is expected that this will make the process easier and more accessible for students from remote areas.Once JoSAA finishes rounds, candidates who are not allotted any seat can still get a chance through the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) special counselling rounds, which basically fill remaining seats in the NIT+ system.
