MANDI: A vibrant cultural event named “One Nation, One Heartbeat” took place at the Indira Market complex on Wednesday evening, organized by Mandavya Kala Manch. This initiative was supported by the North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, which operates under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
The event was dedicated to the courageous soldiers who lost their lives during Operation Sindoor, a recent military initiative that showcased India's commitment to combating cross-border terrorism. A moment of silence was observed to honor these heroes.
Featuring music, dance, and theatrical performances, the program aimed to inspire patriotic feelings and foster national pride, especially among the youth. Iconic patriotic songs like “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon”, “Kar Chale Fida”, and “Sandese Aate Hain” resonated with the audience, eliciting enthusiastic applause.
Mandi's Mayor, Virendra Sharma Bhatt, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The event was led by Dr. Anupama Singh, former Pro Vice-Chancellor of Sardar Patel University, and attended by various local dignitaries. It commenced with a Shiv Vandana performed by Dinesh Gupta, followed by renditions of patriotic songs including “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon”, “Dil Diya Hai Jaan Bhi Denge”, and “Sandese Aate Hain”. Participants included artists from Mandavya Kala Manch and students from local schools.
During the event, speakers commended the initiative for reminding attendees of the sacrifices made by the armed forces. They emphasized that Operation Sindoor sent a strong message about India's intolerance towards threats to its sovereignty, highlighting the bravery and precision of the Indian military as a testament to a united nation ready to confront any aggression.
