In a groundbreaking revelation, scientists have identified lemon as the healthiest fruit in the world, surpassing widely-considered favourites like apple and orange.
A recent study conducted by William Patterson University in America analysed 41 fruits, and lemon emerged as the top contender due to its impressive health benefits.
Lemon, typically known for its sour taste and ability to enhance flavours, is now recognised for its significant nutritional advantages. The fruit is packed with vitamin C, fibre and flavonoids, which are essential for nourishing the body and protecting it from severe diseases.
The study highlighted that lemon can meet almost all nutritional requirements of the body with very few calories. A lemon with only 100 calories is capable of fulfilling 100% of the body’s nutritional needs.
According to a report from the Times of Indialemon’s most notable quality is its ability to strengthen the immune system. Rich in vitamin C, lemon is effective in preventing colds and enhancing iron absorption, thus helping prevent diseases like anaemia.
The fruit’s anti-inflammatory properties also contribute to heart health, while regular consumption aids in digestion and accelerates the body’s detoxification process.
