In a shocking incident in the Budhana area of Muzaffarnagar district, a teacher has been apprehended by the police following allegations of sexual assault against a 16-year-old female student. This information was confirmed by a police official on Thursday.
According to Circle Officer Gajendra Pal Singh, the police have registered a case against the accused teacher, Shahzad (35), under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Section 74 (assault with intent to insult a woman), Section 75 (sexual harassment), Section 351 (criminal intimidation), and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He was arrested on Wednesday.
In response to the incident, the education department has sealed the school where the teacher was employed. The Basic Education Officer (BSA) stated that the school was closed due to irregularities. An investigation into the school's operations has been initiated, as it was only authorized to operate up to the eighth grade, yet it was found to be conducting classes for ninth and tenth grades as well.
The victim, a 16-year-old student, reported to the police that she had gone to the school to collect her results when the teacher, Shahzad, sexually assaulted her and threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident. Afterward, she confided in her parents about the ordeal. Following this revelation, Hindu activists gathered outside the school, demanding strict action against the accused.
