Katie Boulter showed her class just moments after boyfriend Alex de Minaur was dumped out of the . Boulter, who would later go on to lose her second-round match in Paris, has been in a long-term relationship with fellow tennis ace De Minaur, with the pair announcing their engagement last year.
The two have been dubbed the sport's 'power couple' and have often been spotted at each other's matches, when they've been competing at the same tournaments. But it was in the gym at Roland-Garros where Boulter and De Minaur shared a heartwarming moment.
De Minaur lost a five-set epic against Alexander Bublik during Thursday's action in the French capital, with Boulter seen consoling him in the warm-up area following the match. The Brit went up to her partner, put an arm around him and offered some words of solace.
, calling on the authorities to make amendments to the schedule. He said: "The solution is simple, you shorten the schedule.
"What's not normal is that for the past three or four years, I've had two days off after Davis Cup and I've gone straight into pre-season and the new season. Yeah, sure, I could've taken a week or a week and a half [off], but then that means my pre-season is two weeks long, and I'm already starting in Australia, which is my home ground where I want to do well. Once you start, you don't finish until November 24. It's just never-ending. That's the sheer fact of it."
It proved an afternoon to forget for the couple, given Boulter later went on to lose her second-round clash against Madison Keys. However, there were fewer complaints from Boulter, who had already posted her best-ever French Open performance, given she'd been paired up against this year's Australian Open champion.
Reacting to her loss against the most recent Grand Slam champion, Boulter said: "If you don't have a great serving day against someone like that, you're always under pressure. I think almost every service game I hit a double-fault. Against someone of that calibre, you just can't afford to do that."
She later added: "I feel like I could have done better. I think almost every service game I hit a double-fault, which I've done before and kind of bounced back."
