Director Anurag Basu expressed his heartfelt feelings about the late actor Irrfan Khan during the launch event for the song 'Zamaana Lage' from the upcoming film Metro...In Dino. He revealed that actress Konkana Sen Sharma was visibly emotional while filming, as she reminisced about her co-star and dear friend, Irrfan Khan.
At the event, which celebrated the sequel to Life In a Metro, Basu was accompanied by the cast, including Konkana, who was paired with Irrfan in the original film. She is the only returning member from the first installment.
Anurag recounted a poignant moment when Konkana became tearful while shooting a scene that echoed a similar tone from the original movie. He noted, 'We were filming a scene, and the mood was reminiscent of the first film. Out of nowhere, Konkona began to cry, and I worry that I might feel the same if someone brings him up. We truly miss him, as well as KK, and many others we worked with in the past.'
The event also paid tribute to singer KK, who had performed two beloved tracks from the prequel, 'Alvida' and 'O Meri Jaan.' Metro...In Dino, which is the concluding chapter of Basu's trilogy of hyperlinked cinema, is produced by Bhushan Kumar and explores contemporary themes of love and relationships.
The song 'Zamaana Lage' is composed by Pritam, marking a return to their successful collaboration known for creating memorable musical experiences. The sequel boasts a stellar cast, including Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, Neena Gupta, and Saswata Chatterjee. The film is scheduled for release on July 4.
