In a shocking incident in Pune, a man's ear was bitten by a woman in an assault, and he was stabbed for allegedly eve-teasing girls at her hostel in the Shivajinagar area.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon outside Dutt Vasahat, near Shirole Road in the Shivajinagar area in Pune. The man accused of eve-teasing has been identified as Milind Vasant Kothari, a driver by profession (40).
Meanwhile, a complaint has been filed at Deccan Police Station. The accused have been booked under Bharati Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Sections 115 (2),118 (1) and 3(5). The accused has been identified as Suresh Vitthal Kamble, 60, and his daughter-in-law.
The assualt has been caught on camera.
Girisha Nimbalkar, Senior Police Inspector of Deccan Police Station, speaking to the Free Press Journal, said, "The altercation arose between the duo after a minor dispute. The accused, Suresh Vithhal Kamble (60), and his daughter-in-law approached Milind Vasant Kothari (40), who was standing with his friend near Lokmanya Girls Hostel in Shivajinagar, and started an argument, which later turned into physical violence. Kamble bit Kothari's ear, leading to serious injuries."
"Both are known to each other (neighbours) and living in the same colony," she added.
As per the account of Kothari, he was chatting with his friends near the hostel when the owner of the hostel and his daughter-in-law confronted him and the scuffle escalated when he was bitten off and stabbed. His friends admitted him to Sasoon Hospital where doctors confirmed he had sustained serious injuries — five stitches to his ear and two to his abdomen.
Kothari said that he told the woman and man that we were just chatting, not teasing anyone but they did not listen.
His ear was so badly injured that he received 5 stitches to the ear. Meanwhile, Police Sub-Inspector Pravin Kulkarni of Deccan Police Station in Pune is currently leading the investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made.
