A love triangle was added to the film by including Lalit and Chandni in Bombay. Before this film Rishi Kapoor had given many flop films. But after Chandni his luck shone so much that he got back his lost stardom. Not only this Vinod Khanna who was known for his image of an action hero got a new identity by giving him a romantic role. In this sense this film proved to be a lifesaver for Vinod Khanna and Rishi Kapoor. Yash Chopras faltering career also came back on the right track after this film.
