In a vibrant gathering, Lt Gen KJS Dhillon (retd), affectionately known as Tiny, unveiled his second book, 'Wafadari Imaandari Zimmedari: War Room to Boardroom,' on Thursday evening at SD College-32. The event was filled with attendees eager to hear from the tall and charismatic general.
Lt Gen Dhillon captivated the audience with engaging stories that blended humor and inspiration. His book outlines the essential qualities of a leader in the military, emphasizing the importance of tradition, discipline, honor, emotional balance, family values, and the ability to endure immense pressure.
The evening was further enhanced by his storytelling, which included poignant shayari that resonated deeply with those present. A memorable highlight was when he gifted a signed copy of his book to the youngest participant in attendance.
General VP Malik (retd), the chief guest, praised Lt Gen Dhillon for his ability to convey leadership lessons in a straightforward manner that resonates with soldiers and civilians alike.
Joining the veterans on stage was the book's editor, Premanka Goswami, who shared how his perception of the Indian Army shifted after meeting the esteemed general.
In a light-hearted moment, Lt Gen Dhillon recounted how his first book faced initial resistance from the publisher regarding its Hindi title and his fierce image. However, after a firm stance, his requests were met, leading to the success of 'Kitne Ghazi Aaye, Kitne Ghazi Gaye.'
The same publisher later approached him for another book, this time embracing a Hindi title and a more assertive image. 'Wafadari Imaandari Zimmedari: War Room to Boardroom' has already seen a reprint even before its official release, published by Penguin Veer.
He concluded with a powerful message: 'A good commander never loses sight of humanity. Leading with heart distinguishes the greatest leaders.'
