Haliburton’s Triple-Double Lifts Pacers Over Knicks 130-121/ TezzBuzz/ WASHINGTON/ J. Mansour/ Morning Edition/ Tyrese Haliburton posts historic 32-15-12 triple-double with zero turnovers. Pacers beat Knicks 130-121, lead 3-1 in East finals. Indiana is now one win from reaching NBA Finals.
Indianapolis (AP) — Tyrese Haliburton delivered one of the most dazzling postseason performances in NBA history Tuesday night, scoring 32 points, dishing 15 assists, and grabbing 12 rebounds without committing a single turnover as the Indiana Pacers defeated the New York Knicks 130-121 to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals.
With his father John Haliburton back in the building after an earlier playoff ban, the Pacers’ floor general put on a historic show in front of a star-studded crowd. Haliburton became the first player in NBA postseason history to notch 30+ points, 15+ assists, and 10+ rebounds with zero turnovers since the stat was tracked in 1977-78.
Only Nikola Jokic and Oscar Robertson have recorded similar numbers in the playoffs, further highlighting Haliburton’s rare feat.
Indiana outshot New York early, opening the game with 70% shooting through much of the first quarter and closing the half on a 6-0 run to lead 69-64. Haliburton was already nearing a triple-double by halftime.
Head coach Rick Carlisle credited Haliburton for setting the tone after a sobering film session following Game 3.
Pascal Siakam provided firepower with 30 points, while Obi Toppin nailed a late dagger 3-pointer to seal the win with 46 seconds left. Haliburton also had four steals, anchoring both ends of the floor in a complete performance.
Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 31 points. Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 24 points and 12 boards, and OG Anunoby added 22, but it wasn’t enough. Despite multiple second-half runs that cut the deficit to six, New York never regained control.
The loss marks the first home win in the series and puts the Knicks on the brink of elimination at the hands of Indiana for the second consecutive postseason.
The arena buzzed with energy, boosted by appearances from former Pacers greats like Jermaine O’Neal and Lance Stephenson, along with celebrities including Triple H, 50 Cent, Jelly Rolland John Mellencamp.
Notably, Haliburton invited Hans Perez, a New York firefighter and Pacers fan, to the game—surprising him with a signed No. 0 jersey. The moment symbolized the kind of community connection Haliburton has fostered in Indiana.
His father John Haliburton, previously banned from the postseason after a heated incident with Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, was allowed back for this pivotal Game 4 and watched proudly from a suite.
Game 5 will take place Thursday night in Madison Square Garden, where the Knicks will attempt to stave off elimination. Meanwhile, Indiana sits just one win away from returning to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2000.
