BLACKPINK member Jisoo was one of the grand winners at the second Asia Star Entertainer Awards (ASEA) held at K-Arena Yokohama in Japan on May 28 and 29, 2025. The ceremony was for outstanding contributions in music and drama in Asia. During Day 1 of the awards ceremony, Jisoo received the Best Solo (Female) award, a significant achievement in her solo career.

A Heartfelt Thank You to BLINKs

After her victory, the name of Jisoo soon trended on social media. Appreciative of the love, she thanked her fans, referred to as BLINKs. Her record label, BLISSOO, posted a picture of the award being placed in front of her current album Amortage with the words, “Thank you, BLINKs ????.” Jisoo reposted it afterward on her Instagram, again demonstrating her gratitude.

A Celebrated Solo Journey

The win spotlights Jisoo’s evolution as a solo artist. With her explosive voice and participation in songwriting and production, she has demonstrated to be more than a K-pop idol. Her solo debut EP, Amortage, was unveiled on February 14 and comes with four songs in both Korean and English. Its title track, “Earthquake,” was praised for its bubblegum pop style and depiction of love’s emotional phases.

Jisoo’s Expanding Acting Career

Besides music, Jisoo also excels in acting. She has just appeared in the romantic zombie comedy drama Newtopia, which was aired from February 7 until March 21. In the future, she will be appearing in the movie Omniscient Reader: The Prophet and the forthcoming drama Boyfriend on Demand with Seo In Guk, although its release date is yet to be announced.
