During a classic instalment of the beloved show , presenter Tim Wonnacott was excited to learn all about a vintage ashtray which the blue team had discovered in an antiques shop.

"This is the nicest thing I have bought in months," antiques expert David Harper told Tim as he showed the two female bargain hunters a silver-topped crystal glass ashtray with a sea blue rim. They were both in awe of the tiny sparkling object and curious to learn about its history.

To leave them totally speechless, David asked the guests to look at the bottom of the delicate item to see it was engraved with the famous words Tiffany & Co. "How super stylish is that?" He added.

One of the team members gave David a huge hug and a kiss on the cheek, which left him quipping: "Oh, this is the effect I have on women. I just mentioned Tiffany."

They soon discovered the bowl was created in the height of the Art Deco movement in 1930, with the host revealing he purchased the stylish item for a "bargain of a lifetime".

After the two women on the blue team tried guessing how much he paid for it, he finally put them out of their misery by confirming it cost him just £26.

He then received another cuddle and kiss from the same guest, who was astonished by the result. Moments later, the "fabulous" item was examined by an auctioneer named Colin, who admitted he "couldn't really say anything negative about it" while studying it thoroughly as the camera zoomed in.

When Colin was informed David bought the ashtray for just £26, he replied: "I think that is just fantastic because we've put an estimate on it of £50 to £80, and I thought I was being conservative at that. I can easily see it making £100 or £150 - I think it is a great little item."

When the item went to auction later in the episode, the bidding started at £35, and the offers came in thick and fast.

The blue team members kept screaming as the offers rose well above the £100 mark. In the end, the Tiffany & Co item was sold for a whopping £210, giving them a "tremendous" profit of £184.

The presenters and team members hugged together as they celebrated the remarkable moment.

Bargain Hunt airs on weekdays on BBC One at 12.15pm, and episodes can be watched on BBC iPlayer.
