Under the patronage of Collector Lakshmisha, a unique event is being held today (Saturday) on BRTS Road in the city as part of the month-long celebration of Yogandhra. Director of the Agriculture Department Delhi Rao, Collector Lakshmisha, and Municipal Commissioner Dhyan Chand participated in the activity by joining local farmers in yoga poses.
Participating farmers from around the NTR district benefited from the opportunity to practice yoga with local authorities. Delhi Rao highlighted the transformational potential of yoga poses while expressing his joy at being able to participate with the farmers. He pointed out that integrating basic yoga poses into everyday life may promote better health and stave off common illnesses.
Rao emphasized that a lot of people nowadays deal with a lot of stress in their hectic lives, which contributes to the rise in diseases like diabetes and hypertension. He suggested yoga poses, pranayama, and meditation as useful strategies to deal with these stresses, saying that they may support mental clarity and calm.
Additionally, he emphasized the importance of World Yoga Day, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced in 2015, and he was thrilled that Modi and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will be attending the next International Yoga Day event in Visakhapatnam on June 21. Rao described the conversion of BRTS route as a yoga-only route as a good thing.
Collector Lakshmisha went on to restate the objectives of the Yogandhra festival, saying that the goal is for two crore people across the state and ten lakh people in the NTR district to practice yoga. Declaring that BRTS Road would now be a “Nitya Yoga Road,” where people from Vijayawada may practice yoga every day, he reaffirmed that yoga can benefit both the body and the psyche.
Lakshmisha urged individuals to dedicate themselves to 45 minutes of yoga every day, claiming that everyone will experience improved health and happiness as a result of this practice.
