Brad Binder finished 14th in a race that concluded a particularly challenging weekend for the South African rider at Silverstone.
The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider couldn’t hide the difficulties faced throughout the British weekend.
‘A tough weekend for us in Silverstone. Qualifying was difficult, we didn’t finish the Sprint and the long race was also tough’, Binder confessed, summarizing three complicated days at the English circuit where problems accumulated from the first practice.
Inconsistency at the start proved to be one of the most frustrating factors for the South African athlete. ‘I got a good start before the red flag and didn’t on the second start’, Binder explained.
The rider admitted that confidence in the machine became a central problem throughout the race. ‘I struggled with confidence and to know where I could push and where I couldn’t’, number 33 revealed.
Binder’s frustration intensified whenever he seemed to find the right rhythm. ‘As soon as I started to feel OK then I would have some «moments»’, the rider confessed, showing how scares and near-crashes interrupted any progress he managed to make during the race.
Despite the difficulties, the South African remains focused on solving problems before the next race. ‘It’s hard at the moment. We need to figure things out a little bit and step-up for Aragon’, Binder concluded.
