The Gujarat Titans got off to a fine start to IPL 2025. After losing their opening game to PBKS, they went on a four-match winning streak against MI, RCB, SRH, and RR. While chasing a massive target, the Gujarat Titans lost wickets at crucial junctures of their inning, which resulted in the chase falling short of its target. It all started with captain Shubman Gill. In the race for the Orange Cap before this match, the newly appointed captain of the Indian Test team was dismissed for one in the first over.

The main reason behind MI’s win today was their brilliant batting performance, which saw them notch up a massive total of 228/5 in 20 overs while batting first. The most important batter of the day was Rohit Sharma, who was also named the Player of the Match tonight.
Rohit opened the innings with Jonny Bairstow, who came into the squad in this match as a replacement for Ryan Rickelton.
