IndiGo to Launch Direct Flights from Delhi to Jorhat in September 2025

New Flight Services Announced for Assam

On Saturday, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, announced that the airline IndiGo will commence direct flights between Delhi and Jorhat starting in mid-September. The airline also plans to enhance air connectivity to other locations within the state.


During a recent trip to New Delhi, the Chief Minister met with senior executives from IndiGo, urging them to improve air links to key areas in Assam, particularly Silchar, Dibrugarh, and North Lakhimpur.


In a post on social media, he stated, "I am pleased to share that a direct flight from New Delhi to Jorhat will begin in September 2025. It was great to discuss the framework for enhancing air connectivity in Assam with the leadership of IndiGo in New Delhi."


He further expressed his satisfaction, saying, "I am happy to announce that IndiGo will start direct flights between Delhi and Jorhat from mid-2025." Regarding his meeting with the airline's management, he noted that IndiGo responded positively and shared their upcoming plans.


Additionally, he mentioned that the Delhi-Dibrugarh flight will now include a stop in Guwahati, providing morning air connectivity between the two capitals of Assam.


Sarma also indicated that the airline would adjust its flight schedules to accommodate the high demand from passengers, including the introduction of a morning Guwahati-Silchar flight.


He added that a new service between Guwahati and Navi Mumbai is set to launch with the winter schedule for 2025-26. The Chief Minister also mentioned that IndiGo will soon assess the scheduled operations from Lilabari Airport in North Lakhimpur.
