PCCoE Pune Hosts Convocation For India’s First B.Tech Marathi Medium Graduates; Over 75% Students Placed

In a milestone moment in Indian technical education, PCET's Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering (PCCoE), Pune, organised the convocation ceremony "अश्वमेध २०२५" marking the graduation of the first-ever batch of B.Tech in Computer Engineering (Regional Language – Marathi) for the academic year 2024–25.This pioneering initiative, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, has received national acclaim, including commendation from Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. In his congratulatory message, he said, "Heartily congratulate the graduating batch of B.Tech in Computer Engineering (Regional Language—Marathi) of Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering who have received their passing certificates at अश्वमेघ २०२५. A first-ever engineering batch to graduate in mother language, glad to know that more than 75% of this batch has secured placements in top companies."He further added, "These youngsters are not just engineers, they are pioneers and brand ambassadors of excellence in education that is rooted in our cultural and linguistic heritage. With over 75% of students landing jobs at prestigious companies, the program has proven the viability and potential of technical education based on regional languages.As per the official university website, the Akurdi campus in Pune currently hosts around 7,200 students who are being trained in specialised programs such as Engineering, MBA, MCA, and PGDM, guided by experienced and passionate faculty members. Meanwhile, the Ravet campuses are home to approximately 1,200 undergraduate students at the College of Engineering, about 800 students at the Junior College, and nearly 2,500 learners at the Public School. Altogether, the total student strength across both campuses stands at around 11,700 students.
