Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated several development projects, including the airports in Datia and Satna. Additionally, he released a commemorative coin and stamp in honor of the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar during the Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Women's Empowerment Conference held in Bhopal. Modi paid tribute to Ahilyabai Holkar at the Jamburi Maidan during the event.
In his address, Modi highlighted that Lokmata Ahilyabai believed that the essence of governance lies in serving the people and improving their lives. He noted that the event reflects her ideals. The inauguration of the Indore Metro and the introduction of air services to Datia and Satna are expected to enhance facilities in Madhya Pradesh, accelerate development, and create new job opportunities. Modi expressed deep respect for Ahilyabai Holkar, stating that her remarkable personality leaves one at a loss for words.
The Prime Minister remarked that over 250-300 years ago, when the country was under colonial rule, it was a significant achievement to undertake such noble deeds that would be remembered by future generations. He emphasized that Lokmata Ahilyabai never separated divine service from public service, often carrying a Shivling with her. Despite the challenges of her time, she led her state towards prosperity.
Modi acknowledged that Devi Ahilyabai was a major guardian of India's heritage. During times when the country's culture and temples were under threat, she took the initiative to protect them. She was instrumental in the reconstruction of numerous temples across the nation, including Kashi Vishwanath. Modi expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve in Kashi, where Ahilyabai made significant contributions, and noted that visitors to Kashi Vishwanath today can find her statue there.
