Smilie made her debut in the blockbuster Kalyug and captivated the hearts of the audience. Smilie who shared a deep connection with her uncle Mahesh Bhatt wished to make a career in Bollywood. However the complete opposite happened. Despite giving a hit film as her debut Smilie Suri left Bollywood. Not just her professional life but Smilies personal life also remained in headlines. There was a point in her life which wreaked havoc for her. The actress talked about this difficult phase of her life in an interview with Siddharth Kannan. She said—I married choreographer and dance teacher Vineet Bangra in 2014. But after 2 years of marriage he suddenly left me. I kept pleading with him but he did not stop. His parents also did not help me after which I broke down. Smilie Suri talked about her depression and said I locked myself in a room. After he left I went into depression. I could not understand what was happening to me. Even today many people in my family call me crazy. Even today I am struggling with anxiety. But then I thought that the people whose words I am paying attention to do not care about me. After her exit from movies Smilie now gives her time to dance.
