Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A case of fraud has surfaced in the Madhya Pradesh Constable GD Recruitment Exam-2023, where five selected candidates allegedly manipulated their Aadhaar details to allow proxy candidates to appear in the written exam on their behalf.

The exam was conducted between August 16 and September 15, 2023. Before the exam, the accused candidates updated their Aadhaar photos in July 2023, replacing them with those of the impersonators. After the exam, they restored their pictures on the Aadhaar Card. The fraud was detected when Aadhaar history was scrutinised during the appointment process.

An investigation revealed discrepancies in the candidates' photos, signatures, and handwriting on the answer sheets, which did not match the current records. The Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board was asked to provide full documentation, which further confirmed the identity mismatch.

Sub-inspector Raghunandan Sharma of the 14th Battalion, Visbal, complained to Kampoo police station in Gwalior. A case was registered against all five candidates—three from Morena, one each from Shivpuri and Sheopur—for using fraudulent means in the exam.

Senior Superintendent of police Dharmvir Singh confirmed the biometric discrepancies and said further investigation is underway.
