On Sunday morning, the lifeless body of a former youth welfare officer was found among a pile of garbage in the Line Bazaar area of Jaunpur district. Police Circle Officer (City) Devesh Kumar reported that the body of Ramkripal Yadav was located near the Wajidpur intersection.
Upon receiving the information, law enforcement arrived at the scene, sending the body for a post-mortem examination while conducting a forensic investigation at the site. According to Kumar, the 61-year-old Ramkripal Yadav hailed from the village of Merwan in the Khuthan police jurisdiction and was residing with his family in the Sundar Nagar colony near Polytechnic Chauraha. Marks of injury were found on his back and other parts of his body.
Authorities stated that the exact cause of death would be determined following the post-mortem report. Given the seriousness of the situation, senior officials also visited the scene. CCTV footage from the vicinity of Ramkripal's home and the crime scene is currently being reviewed. Family members revealed that Ramkripal had left home on Saturday with his grandson, stopping in front of a restaurant near Wajidpur. He told his grandson he would return shortly. When he did not come back by evening, they attempted to call him, but his phone was switched off. The police are actively investigating the case.
