The beloved classic Pakistani television drama Ainak Wala Jin has made a nostalgic return, now re-released on YouTube in high-definition (HD) format by PTV.
Originally aired from 1993 to 1996 from the PTV Lahore Centre, Ainak Wala Jin was later broadcast again between 2005 and 2008 due to its immense popularity. The show, directed by Hafeez Tahir and produced by Zaib Shehzad, was based on magical tales featuring genies, fairies, and wizards from the mythical land of Koh-e-Qaf.
The series was not only a source of entertainment for children but also served as a platform for moral and educational lessons. Its cultural significance and enduring popularity led to the creation of a remake, which was previously released on YouTube. Now, PTV has officially re-released the original version in HD, giving viewers a chance to relive the magic.
The drama is being uploaded daily, episode by episode, on PTV’s official digital YouTube channel. The re-release began in May, and it has been met with excitement not just from children but also from nostalgic parents who are thrilled to share a cherished piece of their childhood with the next generation.
It is also worth noting that several iconic cast members of the original drama have passed away. Notably, Matloob ur Rehman, famously known as Munna Lahori who played Zakoota Jin, passed away in February 2018. Earlier, Nusrat Ara Begum, who played the character Bill Batori, died in October 2017.
