The purpose of this decision is to bring as many elderly as possible under the ambit of health security so that they do not have to spend money on treatment. This facility is a boon for the elderly, especially in rural areas.

If your age is 70 years or more, then there is good news for you. Now you do not need any documents or long process to get a health card under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

The government has made it clear that such senior citizens can make their digital health card only from the "Ayushman Bharat Health Account" (ABHA) app. In this, the data of Aadhaar card and age is already linked, so there will be no need to provide any separate document.

Now if you or there is an elderly person in your house whose age is 70 years or more, then the entire process of getting a health card can now be done from the mobile phone itself. For this, first download “ABHA” i.e. Ayushman Bharat Health Account App in your smartphone.

This app is available for free on both Google Play Store and Apple Store. After opening the app, first enter your mobile number, then login through OTP. After this, information linked to Aadhaar card like name, date of birth and address will automatically come in the app.

Then the app will ask you to create an ABHA number (14 digit health ID). Only after this number is created, you can get a Golden Health Card under Ayushman Bharat Yojana.

There is no need to upload any other document for those above 70 years of age. All the information is taken from Aadhaar. Once the ABHA number is generated, your health card will be made in a few minutes, which can be downloaded in PDF or can also be printed from any nearby CSC center.

There is no need to stand in line, fill out forms, or get photocopies done anywhere in this entire process. The government has made all this digital and easy for the elderly so that they are not deprived of their right to treatment.
