Sydney Sweeney is set to team up with Hollywood legend Julianne Moore for a riveting thriller.

Penned by Mare of Easttown writer Brad Inglesby, Echo Valley follows Kate (portrayed by Julianne Moore) as she grapples with the loss of her partner, living in seclusion on a Pennsylvania farm where she cares for her horses and offers riding lessons.

In an unexpected turn of events, her drug-addicted daughter Claire (Sydney Sweeney), who has previously exploited her mother, arrives covered in someone else's blood.

However, Claire isn't the only one to show up; her boyfriend (Edmund Donovan) and a criminal (Domhnall Gleeson) also appear at Kate's doorstep.

The question remains: how far will Kate go to safeguard her daughter and the tranquil life she has painstakingly built?

Sweeney is most recognised for her role as Cassie in the teen drama Euphoria, a character she will reprise for its anticipated third and final season, due to release in early 2026.

Her other notable roles include appearances in The White Lotus, The Handmaid's Tale, Anyone But You, Madame Web, Immaculate, and Eden.

She shares the screen with 64 year old Julianne Moore, renowned for her role in The Lost World: Jurassic Park, but also celebrated for her performances in Boogie Nights, Still Alice, Maps to the Stars, and Far From Heaven.

Earlier this month, Moore took centre stage in Netflix's drama Sirens, acting alongside The White Lotus' Meghann Fahy and House of the Dragon actress Milly Alcock.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Sweeney discussed her portrayal of Claire, revealing that she drew from personal experiences with loved ones struggling with addiction.

To further immerse herself in the role, she also conducted extensive research by watching YouTube interviews featuring individuals dealing with addiction on Los Angeles' Skid Row.

Sweeney shared: "I've had a lot of family members deal with addiction and then struggle with similar issues as Claire and her friends, and her group that she hangs out with.

"I've kind of had firsthand experience with it. I mean, there's a manipulation underneath a lot of it.

"But when there was love in the air in the room, you truly still felt it. The person that they are at the core, as buried as they might be, is still there."

Echo Valley premieres on Friday, June 13, on Apple TV+.
