Thane: The Maharashtra ATS has exposed a shocking case in Thane, in which 26 -year -old engineer Ravi Verma has been arrested in a honey trap and arrested for spying for Pakistan. This case indicates a serious threat to the security of the country.
According to ATS investigation, Ravi Verma was implicated by a fake identity woman through social media. The woman introduced herself on Facebook under the name of “Preity” and started talking to Ravi. After some time, the phone number was exchanged between the two and the conversation reached WhatsApp. Gradually, this relationship became intimate and pornographic activities started through video calls.
According to the report, the woman first sent her pornographic photos and videos to Ravi and then asked her to take off clothes on video calls. When Ravi did this, the entire conversation was recorded. After this, the process of blackmailing started. The woman threatened to make this video public, brought sensitive information to the Indian Navy from Ravi, which allegedly reached Pakistan.
The ATS was already suspicious of Ravi’s activities and was being monitored. Eventually he was arrested from Kalwa area of Thane. At present, Ravi is being intensively questioned and an attempt is being made to find out which information he has shared and is he part of a big network.
This case is considered to be a part of the sextortion racket being run by Pakistan, which aims to get confidential information to the defense of the country by implicating Indian youth. Maharashtra ATS has appealed to the youth to be cautious of unknown people on social media and immediately inform the police or cyber cell about any suspicious activity.
