There has been a stir once again in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (Subhaspa) leader and former MLA Abbas Ansari’s legislator has been recently canceled after a court decision. The decision is to the 2022 HAT speech case, in which Abbas was sentenced to two years. This development has created an atmosphere of discussion not only in Subhaspa but also in the politics of the entire state. Party President Om Prakash Rajbhar announced to challenge the decision, saying that he would move to the High Court and stand firmly with Abbas. Let’s understand the whole story of this matter.
The entire controversy started from the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections of 2022. During that time Subhaspa formed an alliance with the Samajwadi Party. At the time of election campaign, Abbas Ansari made a statement in a public meeting, which was considered a hate speech. He had said without naming, “It has been talked to Bhaiya, everyone will have an account.” The statement became so disputed that the matter reached the court. The court convicted Abbas in the case and sentenced him to two years, after which an order was issued to cancel his legislature. This punishment is considered a major setback not only for Abbas but also for Subhaspa.
Subhaspa President Om Prakash Rajbhar has taken a tough stand on this decision. He said, “We accept the decision of the court, but we will challenge it. Preparations for the appeal are going on in the High Court, and we are confident that justice will be available from there.” Rajbhar also clarified that the party is fully standing with Abbas. He said, “Abbas is our MLA, and we will stay with him at every step. Whether we go to the High Court or go to themselves, Subhaspa is united.” Although there can be no hearing for a month due to the High Court holiday, the party has prepared all the necessary documents for legal action.
Due to the cancellation of Abbas Ansari’s legislative, many questions have arisen in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. It may also have an impact on the alliance of Subhaspa and Samajwadi Party. Abbas, who is the son of Mukhtar Ansari, is considered an important face in the politics of Purvanchal. Due to the cancellation of his legislative, the situation of Subhaspa in the area is also being questioned. However, Om Prakash Rajbhar claims that the matter will not weaken the party’s unity. He said, “Our fight is for justice, and we will fight it with full force.”
The next step in this case will be an appeal in the High Court. Subhaspa has clarified that they will make every effort to reverse this decision. Abbas Ansari’s sentence and cancellation of legislativeness not only raised questions on his political career, but it can also affect Subhaspa’s strategy. In the coming days, it will be interesting to see what is the decision of the High Court and in which direction this matter takes the politics of Uttar Pradesh.
