The film we are talking about is none other than the superhit film Shaan. The film captivated the hearts of millions with its strong storyline and grand production. It featured top names of Bollywood like Amitabh Bachchan Shashi Kapoor Sunil Dutt Ravi Kumar.Parveen Babi and Bindiya Goswami. In fact Dharmendra was chosen for the role of Vijay and Hema Malini was chosen for the role of Renu. Being the top stars of that era Dharmendra and Hema both had a massive fan following at that time. However it was reported that due to some differences with Ramesh Sippy Dharmendra and Hema Malini rejected the offer. Eventually the film went to the Shahenshah of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan making it a career-defining moment for him he was first supposed to play the role of Ravi but after Dharmendras exit it was Vijays role that went to him and later Shashi Kapoor played Ravis role and Binditya Goswani replaced Hema Malini for the role of Bindu Even today the film continues to resonate with the audience. From its blockbuster song Pyaar Karne Wale to its action-packed plot the film is still hailed by the Indian audience. Made on the whopping budget of Rs. 435 crores it collected almost times its budget Rs 12.5 crores. This story also shows how one stars rejection becomes a career-defining moment for the other star.
