New Delhi: The world of social media fame is addictive. While many users themselves face addiction to it, those whose profession is to this world are also caught in its entrancing throes. Many do not make out of this maze, but apparently Ritu Rathee, wife of popular YouTuber Gaurav Taneja aka Flying Beast, has done so.
In one of their latest vlogs, Ritu revealed that she has not even opened her Instagram account for almost a year. She went on to clarify that this was an intentional step on her part and that she took this step to shield herself from the ‘fake’ and full of ‘lies’ world of influencers.
While talking about her decision to step back from excessive use, Rathee said, “It’s one thing that you’re earning a living on social media, but if you look closely, your life won’t be incomplete without it. I don’t miss it at all.” For Ritu who has a massive online following from which she earns a lot of money as well, she talked about how the financial considerations for her are not pivotal. “Not at all”, she said on the issue, “It wasn’t a career for me. It was a hobby. Yes, at times I would do shoots and brand posts, but for me, that wasn’t the priority.”
When asked if she would ever return to social media, Ritu said, “No, why would I return to such a fake world, filled with lies? I’m not saying that you’re a liar, but all of this just doesn’t interest me anymore.”
The YouTuber couple Gaurav Taneja and Ritu Rathee, who are parents to two daughters Kiara and Pihu, have quite a big online following. They were recently embroiled in a controversy, wherein speculations surrounding their divorce were abound.
The rumors began after a video of Ritu discussing personal struggles surfaced online where she was seen talking about infidelity. “Should I fight for my daughters’ rights because of the lies and disrespect from my husband?,” she was quoted as saying. This sparked speculations of divorce between the couple.
Around this time, Gaurav also shared a cryptic message, but the issue was finally sorted when Ritu posted a video on Instagram titled “Reality” where she put the divorce speculations to rest.
